Hey traders! We have a champion. After over a month of trading, multiple knockout duels and one very long weather-dominated endgame, BeefSlayer_ is the HIVE World Cup winner. And he took the trophy while sitting on a negative P&L!
Maskache put up a good fight, but this time it simply wasn’t enough. Let’s break down the last day, the final numbers, and what the whole tournament looked like from start to finish.
Quick Rules Summary
Finalists go 1v1, seeded by group score. Both traders reset to $500 for a short head-to-head window; whoever makes more profit advances. Single elimination, until one champion is left.
Best Trader of the Day
We know who’s the best now! Congrats BeefSlayer!
Worst Trade of the Day
I’ll take it easy on Maskache today ;)
Finals
BeefSlayer_ vs Maskache
BeefSlayer_ and Maskache surprised us all with one thing—both traders ended the duel with a negative P&L, a first for both.
Maskache wasn’t able to make up a difference after a dismal first two days. He zeroed out in the end and lost it all trying to catch up with BeefSlayer. The latter must have felt very safe. He barely even traded and ended up with a negative $26 in P&L.
It could have been variance. It could have been fatigue. But we cannot deny that both traders deserved a place in the finals. Even the best traders have bad days. But they do have consistency:
Ultimately, Maskache made $6,831 while BeefSlayer is richer by $8,511. This is just from trading, not taking into account tournament prizes.
While the performance in the finals was choppy, you can clearly see that both traders more than 10x-ed their starting bankroll in a matter of weeks. This alone is an exceptional achievement.
Congratulations to BeefSlayer and Maskache! It was a pleasure to cover your duel.
Wrap Up
That’s all! It was a pleasure to cover this tournament. I’ve seen incredible comeback stories and ultimate failures. I’ve tried to show you how different traders in the tournament approach risk and reward. And I tried to get the title myself, ending the tournament in the Round of 16.
Over month of fierce trading, covering new developments and watching the best prediction market traders trying to prove they deserve the title. I hope you had as much fun as I did.
Now, we’re back to regular programing. Until the next!
Stay strong and see you soon!
