HIVE World Cup: Day 3 Recap
Massive volatility in Group I
Hey traders! PROPHET NOTES is cooperating with HIVE on the HIVE World Cup tournament. From now on, until the end of the tournament, you can expect a daily coverage of:
Best Trade of the Day
Worst Trade of the Day
Group Standings
and more as we advance to later stages of the tournament.
It was a wild day. We had some very close contenders for the best and the worst trade of the day as traders are trying as hard as they can to secure points before the first round is over. Let’s do a quick recap of the last 24 hours.
Quick Rules Summary
Traders are now competing in the group phase, in three weekly round. They start every round with a fresh $500 and are ranked against their group by that round's profit. Where they finish earns points — top 10 score, everyone else gets 0.
After 3 weeks, top two traders out of each group (and eight best traders from the third place) advance to knockouts.
Best Trade of the Day
The best trade of the day goes to Brokie. Probably tired of mediocre results, he went almost all in on Mexico to win with South Korea and made over $500 to put him in the top 6 best traders.
Sometimes you just need a bit of luck.
Congrats!
Worst Trade of the Day
The worst trade of the day belongs to kemuruu_, who managed to erase 90% of his starting bankroll in a single day, dropping from a second position in his group to dead last.
In a single trade, he lost $487 wrongly predicting Czechia vs South Africa game.
Group Standings
Group A
It was a bad day for 0X357 in Group A. With an underwhelming day on the weather markets, he got passed by Joker_Poly, who made $91 on the Toy Story 5 Box Office market.
In the last days of the first round we can expect the top 4 to jostle for the top spots to secure some advantage coming into the second round.
Group B
In Group B we have a new trader in the second spot. Brokie, our winner of the best trade of the day, went big on Mexico to win with South Korea, pocketing over $500 and securing a second position.
Other traders went mostly flat on the day.
Group C
Group C has been extremely volatile in the last 24 hours. Kemuruu_, who was in the second place with $276 in profit is now dead last, erasing 90% of his starting bankroll.
He lost it all trading the World Cup. Turns out he couldn’t keep up the pace.
Thanks to that, PityokH started his redemption arc!
The top spot still belongs to ClydeCash. He’s been predicting Elon tweets and mentions markets. On the second place we have whiggeries, who is only $2 behind him after trading Starmer out by June 30th market.
Group D
Group D remains rather uneventful. Green and TSPoodle are occupying the top two spots with little chances of losing them. They seem to understand that as they are now trying to play it safe and cash in their points.
Group E
Group E is also playing it safe. The top trader yesterday, n0rulesnvr, made $45 trading the Makerfield by-election.
Mirza is still safe in the first place though, with $464 profit to his name. Seems like a lot of traders placed in the top 3 in their groups decided to play it safe and try to cash in their points without much trading.
Group F
In Group F the top 3 is leaving other traders behind. While Arrth, Fuentes99 and CoffeLover_pm all made a fair profit yesterday, others have had a checkered performance.
Will we see a repeat in round 2? Or can the other traders catch up and battle for points? We shall see soon enough.
Group G
Among its narrow group, Group G has some polar opposites. On the one hand we have Rex416, who continues to print on political and esports markets.
On the other hand we have TheGreekTraderHive, a close second in the worst trade of the day contest. He lost the remainder of his bankroll predicting that Trump won’t withdraw troops from the Iran region.
Tough luck. But we hope to see him redeem himself in the second round.
Group H
In Group H, Mask4che continues his volatile ascent and after a series of ups and downs, he has a cool $520 in profit to his name.
Seeing his performance, other traders seem to have accepted that there’s no use chasing him and are comfortable in their spots.
Group I
However, not every trader decided to throw in the towel. In Group I we had quite a reshuffling. HiveMapper533 has barely clung to his lead after he lost $291 on Canada vs Qatar game.
At the same time, probabilitygod, another well-know trader on X, made $125 in a single day, mostly trading Iran agreeing to end uranium enrichment market. Congrats!
Additionally, the second-place-holder after the first day of trading, shiny, continues his descent and lost another $157 on Mexico vs South Korea game. What a volatile group!
Group J
Group J is still dominated by BeefSlayer_ who added a bit to his stellar profits and now sits on $848 P&L. However, we have a new trader in the second place, sonix.
A close second in the best trade of the day prize, he put his entire bankroll on the O/U 2.5 on the Bosnia vs Switzerland World Cup game.
The third place belongs to Hans323, who fell from second to make room for sonix. The yesterday’s third place, Gena The Bond Killer, lost $57 predicting Czechia vs South Africa game and sits now on 7th.
Group K
The top 3 traders in Group K continue their great performance. Splunksy, WeatherOnly and 0xFudrick all have different market focus, but it seems to be working for them.
The rest of the group has now little chances of catching up.
Group L
Group L continues its very unexpected performance, with OnlyLuckNoBrain comfortably in the first spot with only $53 in profit. The only question now is if he can keep it up in the remaining rounds.
