Hey traders! After only 24 hours of the Quarterfinals we already have one trader down. Elite 8 is not for the faint of heart—one mistake can make all the difference. That being said, the remaining three duels are as competitive as it can get. There is no clear favorite and we expect plenty to happen in the next 72 hours.
Let’s see who can already be safe!
Quick Rules Summary
Finalists go 1v1, seeded by group score. Both traders reset to $500 for a short head-to-head window; whoever makes more profit advances. Single elimination, until one champion is left.
Best Trade of the Day
The best trade of the day goes to Maskache, who made $362 predicting the highest temperature in Seoul to win his duel and advance to the Semifinals.
Congrats!
Worst Trade of the Day
The worst trade of the day goes to Rex416:
He managed to lose it all by wrongly predicting a tennis match outcome for a $616 loss. Rex416 ends the tournament with over $4,000 in total profits, but a loss like that must hurt. Especially at the very beginning of the Quarterfinals.
Round of 16
Joker_Poly vs thonka
After beating me in the Round of 16, Joker_Poly continues to dominate. With $319 in profit he is well ahead of thonka, who after wrongly predicting an MLB game is dow $67.
However, this duel is far from over. Both traders have already proved that they can turn their fate and with three days left, anything can happen.
Maskache vs Rex416
This cannot be said about this duel. Rex416 has lost it all wrongly predicting a tennis match and Maskache will now advance to the Semifinals!
What an incredible turn of events! Rex416 started off strong, but just one wrong prediction put him out of the race. Maskache will face either Raskell or WeatherOnly in three days. In the meantime he can rest and enjoy the weather.
Raskell vs WeatherOnly
WeatherOnly made $234 in the first day of trading and seems to feel safe enough to not trade now. However, Raskell has barely even started. Less than $5 in profit is not something he got us used to.
I fully expect Raskell to go big in the next 72 hours and give WeatherOnly a run for his money.
PMKFund vs BeefSlayer_
A similar story is unfolding in the last duel. BeefSlayer_, a top weather trader, is up $151 after the first day, while PMKFund made $12 on a single trade and for now stays silent.
PMKFund is now famous for taking his time and waiting for his opponents to make mistakes. However, BeefSlayer_ has proved that he can be in the green every round. Is this the end of PMKFund and his strategic patience? Or will we see some revelations by the end of the Quarterfinals? Let us know in the comments!
Wrap Up
That’s all for today! The competition is fierce with one trader out after the first 24 hours. However, anything can happen in the remaining three duels.
