HIVE World Cup: Week 2 Day 4 Recap
Weather traders at the top
Hey traders! We have less than 24 hours left in Week 2 of trading. Since yesterday, we’ve had quite a few changes in the group leaderboards. Weather traders continue to dominate the tournament, even with the Iran war and World Cup ongoing. Can anyone beat them?
Let’s do a quick recap of the last 24 hours.
Quick Rules Summary
Traders are now competing in the group phase, in three weekly round. They start every round with a fresh $500 and are ranked against their group by that round's profit. Where they finish earns points — top 10 score, everyone else gets 0.
After 3 weeks, top two traders out of each group (and eight best traders from the third place) advance to knockouts.
Best Trade of the Day
The best trade of the day title goes to strider3, who has made $644 correctly predicting the highest temperature in Seoul. They are now leading Group I.
Congrats!
Worst Trade of the Day
The worst trade of the day title goes to I-Predict.
They have lost over $300 wrongly predicting Germany vs Ecuador game. We wish you more luck next time!
Group Standings
Group A
Group A is dominated by weather traders. HondaCivic is on a roll, having made another $373 predicting the highest temperature in London. They have now more than quadrupled their starting bankroll.
Joker_Poly and Boss_Youzi, another weather trader, are trying to keep up the pace with $648 and $458 profit respectively. However, it is almost impossible to much such a stellar performance.
With such a difference between Week 1 and Week 2, the final round of the group stage will be extremely competitive.
Group B
TheNooMast is sitting comfortably at the top of the way more timid Group B. However, with only $175 in profit, they have Mosesfan just behind their back. The fan of the last tournament winner made over $100 yesterday predicting esports.
In the third place we have Airdropper2, who has a mixed performance in Week 2 predicting World Cup games. However, even a third place would put them at the top of the leaderboard after two weeks of trading.
Group C
ClydeCash, despite leading Group C is trying to increase their lead. However, after a mixed day of trading they still have $353 in profit. The rest of the podium is flat with whiggeries having made $34 and wisechinamann having made $25 in the first two days of trading.
ChudTrades, who was second yesterday, had a rather bad day, erasing most of their profits. They are now sitting in the fourth place with $24 to their name, just behind wisechinamann.
Can they make it back? They have 24 hours to prove they deserve the place at the podium.
Group D
Leaders of Group D seem to be comfortable where they are and refused to trade ever since they made it big. Since yesterday only ExertoATH and PROPHET exchanged places after PROPHET barely missed his parley.
Group E
Group E has also had limited activity since yesterday. We only had n0rulesnvr trying to overtake picklepredictor and Pristine10. They made $62 and are now only $7 behind the third place.
Group F
Group F also saw only limited action. Hhumpsfps tried to overtake CoffeLover_pm, however a series of wrong prediction put them behind KeithStarmerHive. They now have only $69 in profit, dangerously close to Arrth in the fourth place with $62 in profit.
Group G
In Group G, Rex416 is trying their best to land at the top of the global leaderboard, having made over $200 since yesterday. Can they beat the top weather trader, HondaCivic? We’ll see in less than 24 hours.
Group H
In Group H, the only serious trading activity came from Mask4che. Weather gods were not favorable to them yesterday though, as they lost almost $300 in an effort to stay at the top of the global leaderboard. However, they are still safely in the first place, ahead of aenews who has only $27 in profit.
Group I
We had a change in the leader position in Group I. While 0xd1namit has been slowly building their P&L, strider3 made $644 predicting the highest temperature in Seoul.
It looks like others have little chances to challenge them with only 24 hours left to go.
Group J
The top 3 in Group J is extremely competitive. All with over $600 in profit, they left the rest of the group behind and are actively battling for the top spot.
Since yesterday, BeefSlayer_ has barely managed to keep the pole position as sonix made almost $200 correctly predicting Germany vs Ecuador World Cup game. PeterParker3Hive had a day off and with less than 24 hours till the end of Week 2, they are $150 behind.
Group K
WeatherOnly may have thought they are safe in the first place. However, after a mixed performance earlier in the week, atteonthephone made $475 predicting the highest temperature in London, overtaking their fellow weather trader.
Almost $90 behind them we have Splunsky in the third place, who also started to trade more actively after having a slow start.
Group L
In a rather inactive Group L, OnlyLuckNoBrain is trying their luck in the last days of trading. They have now made back their losses and are poised to challenge thonka and justigor, both with less than $50 in profit, for the first place
Will they succeed? Or will Lady Luck deny them the pleasure? We will know by tomorrow.
Wrap Up
That’s it for today. With 24 hours to go we still have a few groups in which everything will be decided. Who are you rooting for to win Week 2? Let us know in the comments.
See you tomorrow for another HIVE World Cup Recap!
