Iran: Let's Play Regime Change
Will the US topple the Islamic Revolution?
So here we are again, huh? Five years after the botched exit from Afghanistan and a couple of months after the National Security Strategy deprioritized the Middle East, every geopolitical analyst, news junkie and terminally online degen are trying to figure out if the US strikes Iran.
Because contrary to the Venezuela situation, there is a large cohort of analysts that dismisses the notion the US might entertain yet another Middle East regime change operation. At the same time, probably an equally large cohort is seeing a US intervention as imminent.
But the truth is rarely as straightforward.
Will There Be A US Intervention?
The sort answer is maybe. And the long answer is complex. To figure things out, we need to understand what a regime change operation in Iran might look like. We need to understand what needs to happen in Iran and outside to make it possible. But even more importantly, we need to understand what is the context of this game.
So I guess buckle up, it’s shaping up to be a long one.
