After arguably three bad years for Germany, where the Scholz government has ruled over the end of COVID, the Ukraine war and continuing decline of once mighty German manufacturing, the time has come for Germans to go and choose a new direction.
This election is happening in an especially interesting time. There is a recession looming over Europe, Donald Trump has just assumed office and his plans for both tariffs as well as Ukrainian war are a matter of great discussion.
Today I will take a look at Germans, their pains and priorities, their needs and worries. I will analyze polling in the context of a (quite complex) political system there. I will take into account recent events and any sentiment that may not be caught by polling.
Whether you are German, European or otherwise, this election is instrumental for the world. With all the laughs around Europe recently, Germany is the world’s third largest economy. Although waining, their policies and problems will impact the whole world. Crack a beer, subscribe below and enjoy.
