No. Oh, sorry, I was supposed to leave that for the end. Anyway, you’re not here for the verdict. You’re here for the commentary. And you shall get it.
I’m sitting in front of my screen on yet another night with all kinds of thoughts in my head - 4D chess? Stupid? 5D Chess? Reckless? 6D Chess? Manipulated? 7D Chess? Bought?
We are amazing creatures, aren’t we? Given enough time and will, we can think of an explanation and justification to anything. Mirage vs reality. I look at my watch twice, but it’s not a dream.
A sip of beer to take the edge off. A ZYN pouch to put the edge back on. I’m ready to go.
Act I
The ZYN kicks in with the sweet, familiar tingle. The deep house mix is blasting in my ears, music dancing around my running mind.
So… The Ukrainian imbroglio. I put on my article from early December for a refresher. Damn, I should charge more for this. Pure alpha. I wake up from stroking my ego and move on.
High level pieces are great, but now there is plenty more of data and markets. And where chaos brews, opportunity arises. A quick recap:
Trump indeed is keen on keeping this promise.
Trump is moving fast (even Russia is surprised).
Europe is paralyzed and thus sidelined.
This was expected. However, this was not:
Trump being so blunt about Europe.
Trump being so straightforward about economic value extraction from Ukraine.
Trump going ballistic on Ukraine and cozying up to Russia.
Shock, disbelief and denial followed. Hardcore MAGA is doing mental gymnastics to justify the approach while the rest is distancing themselves from it. But what is exactly going on?
